The chemical struggle
Secondarily, the collateral effects caused by
these poisons, like pollution of the atmosphere, the water bearing
strata and water, which degrade only after a significant period
of time cannot be ignored.
Added to this is the fact that many of these substances are extremely
toxic for the people who come into contact with them when they are
produced as well as when they are used on crops and when agricultural
products are consumed. It is, therefore, easy to understand how
the impact that these poisons may have on the ecosystem has now
become one of the major worries for many governments, who have set
up support programmes for the use of alternative techniques.
